Where Do Your School Menus Come From?

Laura Jones is the Director of Food Service for Geneva Schools.  In accordance with the requirements for the National Breakfast & Lunch Programs, she creates your monthly menus.

What makes her qualified to write the menus?
She has earned the credential, School Nutrition Specialist (SNS), the highest credential in the profession.

In order to receive this credential, Mrs. Jones had to meet the academic and experience requirements as well as demonstrate competency through successfully passing a national standardized test for the school foodservice  and nutrition profession.  She is one of only 900 professionals who have earned this designation nationwide.  She also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

This credential is offered through the School Nutrition Association, a nonprofit organization of over 55,000 members that encourages the highest standards in school foodservice and nutrition programs.  This credential recognizes those who have obtained a high level of professional achievement.
