Steps to use A+SSESS!
There are four steps involved to assess a student’s academic skill level and then to align that student to the A+LS curriculum.

Step 1: The teacher logs into A+SSESS! and selects the appropriate class or student. He or she then schedules a pretest and a posttest for the student or for the entire class. At any time, the teacher can review the pretest or posttest material.

Step 2: The student(s) logs into the A+SSESS! program, and the scheduled test appears in the order assigned by the teacher. A pretest or posttest is designed to be completed in one or two class periods. The tests are a combination of multiple choice and completion questions based on the A+LS curriculum.

Step 3: The teacher reviews the pretest report(s) to determine individual skill deficiencies. A few simple mouse clicks create an entirely new personalized learning program from the A+SSESS! report recommendations. The new personalized learning program can replace or append to the student’s current assignment list in A+LS.

Step 4: The student(s) logs into A+LS and completes the new PLP from the assignment list. The student(s) logs back into A+SSESS! to take the posttest. The student’s gains are recorded once the posttest is complete, and overall class comparisons are recorded for the teacher to view or print.
