NEBRASKA

gothenburg
Hi,
We live in Gothenburg, Nebraska and attend Dudley Elementary School.  We live in a rural area.  We are located almost in the middle of our state.  We live right by interstate 80 and our claim to fame is the Pony Express Station.  You can see a picture of it on the front.  Nebraska is known primarily for its agriculture, but we love our NCAA football team.  Go Big Red!!!  Our capital city is Lincoln and its a very nice place.  If you ever get a chance to visit Nebraska make sure you check out the worlds largest porch swing in Hebron, NE.  Hope youve enjoyed reading a little about us.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hickens Class

Greetings from Nebraska!  Can you find us on your map?  We are right in the middle of the USA.  In our class, we have 11 girls, 8 boys, and 1 guinea pig named Puddles.  Nebraska is known as the Cornhusker state because we grow a lot of corn.
State bug: honeybee        State bird: Meadowlark        State tree: cottonwood
State flower: goldenrod
Nebraska has a cool archeological dig site at Ash Falls.  Here is a link if youd like to check it out:  http://scarlet.unl.edu/?p=1759
When winter comes to Nebraska, we will have lots and lots of snow!  Thank you for writing us!
