NEW JERSEY

  facts
Harrison is a one square mile town, in between Newark and Jersey City.  We are in a very urban area.  Harrison has 4 schools: 1 for grades K  3, 1 for grades 4  5, 1 for grades 6  8, and a high school.  Our class is one of 7 second grades.  We currently have 18 students, but that could always change!  Our school mascot is the Lincoln Lion.
Harrison is currently building the NY Red Bulls soccer stadium.  We are about 10 minutes from NJPAC, a performing arts center in Newark.  The New Jersey Devils hockey team is playing at their new stadium in Newark as well.  We are 12 miles away from New York City, a quick 30 minute ride on mass transit.  We are a short ferry ride from Jersey City to the Statue of Liberty.
New Jersey is home to the New York Giants and the New York Jets football teams.  We also have the New Jersey Nets basketball team.  All three teams play in the Meadowlands, which is 15 minutes away.  New Jersey is famous for its many beaches.
Hope to hear from your class soon!
