NEW YORK

Hello from Nokomis School.  We are a kindergarten class from Holbrook.  Our school is on Long Island, a great place with lots of beaches.  The Montauk Lighthouse is fifty miles east of us.  It is a great place to go fishing.  New York City is fifty miles west of us.  We have four seasons, and right now the trees are beautiful with spectacular colored leaves.  Our favorite time of the day is when we do centers.  We enjoy reading books by Eric Carle, Ezra Jack Keats, and Jan Brett.  Have a great year!

Hi from Aquebogue, NY.  We are speech students at the Aquebogue Elemntary School.  There are 485 students in our school.  Our school is located on Long Island.  Our town is about 100 miles from New York City - home of the Empire State building, Statue of Liberty, the Yankees and the Mets.  There are many things to do on Long Island!  You can go to the beach, to the park, shopping mall or visit the many farms here on the east end of Long Island.  New York was the 11th state to receive statehood.  Our nickname is the Empire State.  The capital of New York is located in Albany.  Our state flower is the rose, the state bird is the bluebird and the state fruit is the apple.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Hello Postcard Pals!  We are a 2nd grade class in East Greenbush, NY.  We live near Albany.  That is the capital of New York.  We have 19 children in our class.  We are watching the leaves change color now that fall is here.  Many of us have been out to pick our state fruit  apples!  We also know that our state bird is the bluebird, our state drink is milk, our gem is the garnet and our song is “I Love New York!”  This year we will learn cursive.  We are enjoying looking on our big map to find out where all of our postcards are coming from.

Dear friends,
I am a 4th grader at Thiells Elementary.  Do you know many interesting things there are in NY?  I live 30 miles north of NYC and all of its exciting attractions like the Statue of Liberty.  My house is near the Hudson River and close near Bear Mountain and West Point.  Both have museums, sports, and hiking, just to name a few.  I love NY. Come and visit.

Dear Postcard Pals,
We are 3rd graders at John Pearl Elementary School, our teacher is Ms. Boccio and we have 16 children in our class.  Our school is K-5 and we have about 300 students in all.  We are located in Bohemia, Long Island which is part of New York.  We live in the suburbs, in Suffolk County with many beaches nearby.  In the fall we pick pumpkins and in the winter we can play in the snow.  You could visit Duck Stadium to watch a minor league ballgame or go to Splish Splash, a big water park.
We look forward to hearing from you.
From, Ms. Boccios 3rd Graders
