NEW YORK

albany

Hello Postcard Pals!  We are a second grade class in East Greenbush, NY.  We live near Albany.  That is the capital of New York.  We enjoy four seasons here.  We are watching the leaves change color now that fall is here.  Many of us have gone apple or pumpkin picking.  Here are some interesting facts about our state…state bird: bluebird, state flower: rose, drink: milk, fruit: apple, animal: beaver, gem: garnet, insect: ladybug, fish: brook trout, muffin: apple.  We can’t wait to hear from you soon!

Hello from Long Island, New York.
In our state we have many interesting attractions such as the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Broadway, Niagara Falls, and Rockefeller Center.  Our pizza and bagels are so delicious that you have to come and try them.  Our school is located in Port Jefferson Station, New York.

We are 4th graders from Thidls, NY.  There are many remarkable places in the Empire State.  We live close to the Stony Point Battlefield where part of the Revolutionary War was fought.  Our school is located near the Hudson River just 30 minutes north of NYC.  Come and visit.

Hi from Mt. Morris 2nd graders,
We live about 30 miles south of Rochester, NY near Letchworth State Park called the “Grand Canyon of the East.”  Our town also has a concrete dam that controls the flow of the Genese River that runs from PA to Lake Ontario.  We are the birthplace of Francis Bellamy, the author of the Pledge of Allegiance.  Our school, which you see on the front, is in a small rural area.  We have only 2 of each grade K  6 with about 16 children in each grade.  Soon all the tree leaves will turn red or yellow.
