PENNSYLVANIA

Dear Postcard Pals,

We are Kindergarteners from a small city in the coal region of northeastern PA.  PA has big cities like Philadelphia and farmland too.  PA is known as the snack food capital of the world and we are not far from Chocolate World in Hershey, PA.  PA is also home to the Crayola factory and the Little League World Series.  We like to go state parks to swim and hike and the Schuylkill County fair.  Fall is here, the leaves are starting to change colors, and it is getting colder here.

Greetings from PA!  We are a third grade class at Greenwich Elementary, a rural school in PA.  Our capital is Harrisburg.  Our state is home to the historical Liberty Bell in Philadelphia.  We have many attractions that we enjoy visiting such as Dorney Park, Hershey Park, and Knoebel’s Grove.  Our state is rich with Native American history.  We hope to learn about your state soon!

Greetings Friends,
We are located in a small town called Ambler located about 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia.  On the front is a picture of the liberty bell.  This is a symbol of independence from the American Revolutionary War.  It rang for the reading of the Declaration of Independence.  Many people come to touch this famous bell while learning the history of our state at the Constitution Center.
The next picture is of a statue of William Penn.  He was the founder of our state.  You can see our state is named in honor of him.  Did you know that our state is the birthplace of pretzels?  We eat more pretzels than any other state!  Pennsylvania is a great place to live
