Still unpacking and trying to
find a spot for everything.
We have a beautiful
maple tree just outside our windows. There is a pasture with goats and
horses about 20 feet from our windows.
The books are now sorted and
ready to go on the shelves. I have lots of chapter books. Do you
like chapter books?

Our Snoopy curtains are now hung
and it is starting to look like our Snoopy classroom. I have lots
of Snooy/Peanuts things.
The charts for reading ,
spelling and math are now on the front board. Do you see the pictures
at the top of the chalkboard? The alphabet is above the long
bulletin board. Above the alphabet there are posters about
vowels, math signs, numbers, and color words. Below the
alphabet is our Snoopy number line. The bulletin board on the
right is our calendar for morning meeting. I put
our spelling words in the small blue chart on the right.
The
large blue chart will be our "Focus Wall" for reading. The small blue
chart on the left will be our math vocabulary chart.
All the items in the centers
(purple and white baskets) have been cleaned and sorted.
These center baskets contain objects to examine and
explore as well as fun learning activities. In the science
baskets we have magnets, rocks, shells, fossils, teeth, insects, leaf
collections, magnifying glasses, puzzles, a snake skin, and an emu egg
shell. In the math baskets there are flashcards, tangrams, pattern
blocks,
clocks, puzzles, fraction sets, money cards, geoboards,
and games. In the reading basket there are spelling games, phonics
puzzles, facts cards, and reading games. In the games
baskets there are puzzles, legos, magic slates, and magnetics.
The aquarium for Sugar and Spice
is ready for them. Do you know who Sugar and Spice are?
All the books in the bookcases
and baskets have been sorted and arranged. Next week I will work on
bulletin boards, name/desk tags, charts, posters, door decorations, hall
displays and lots of paperwork.
