In 1929, Orville drew this sketch of a rubber
band powered model helicopter his father gave the brothers in
1878. After it wore out, they made many copies. This was
their first successful powered flying machine.
The Wright's home at 7 Hawthorne Street, Dayton,
Ohio, in 1895. That's a Wright bicycle leaning against the wrought iron
fence.
The 1900 Wright Glider being flown as a kite in Kittyhawk,
North Carolina. The tail has been removed.
The 1902 glider, designed with the Wrights own wind
tunnel data, was the Wright's first successful flying machine.

Wright Brothers Memorial Pylon
This 60-foot high gray granite monument sits atop 90-foot Kill Devil
Hill near Orville and Wilbur Wright's camp. Inner stairs lead to an observation
platform which provides an excellent view of the area chosen by the Wright
Brothers to make their dreams reality.
The monument was dedicated in 1932 to commemorate the achievement
of the Wright Brothers from Dayton, Ohio.
