Hello from LaGrange, GA.  We are located about 70 miles southwest of our capital – Atlanta.  We have about 450 students at our school – with an average of 20 students in our first grade classes.  Former president Jimmy Carter is from Georgia.  Our state bird is the Brown Thrasher, state flower Cherokee Rose, state tree the Live Oak, and state fruit is peach.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Georgia is very well-known for its peaches.  Georgia conditions are perfect for growing this tasty fruit.  Atlanta is the capital of Georgia.  The 1996 Olympics were held in Atlanta.  It is also the place where the formula for Coca-Cola was invented.  The world of Coca-Cola is a three story building in Atlanta where you can learn the history of the #1 selling soft drink in the world.  The carpeting industry began in Georgia, and we are the #1 peanut grower in the country.  Georgia is a great place to live and visit.

Greetings from Marbut,
We are having fun learning a lot in third grade.  Marbut is a theme school which means we wear uniforms, have homework every night, and do lots of projects.  We love to take dance breaks to get our energy out.  We enjoy going to Six Flags over Georgia, which is near our capital, Atlanta.  Our city of Lithonia is only about 10 minutes from Atlanta.  Atlanta is in the Piedmont Region of Georgia.  Atlanta is home to the new Georgia Aquarium.  It’s also the home of the Falcons (football), the Braves (baseball), the Hawks (basketball), and the Thrashers (hockey).
Sincerely,
Ms. J Davis’ Class
