Hi.  We are a 4th grade class from Illinois.  Chicago is located by Lake Michigan.  I like Chicago because it has great plays.  In the summer I like to go biking.  In the winter I like to build snow forts.  My favorite places to visit are Independence Grove and Wrigley Field.  Illinois is full of wonderful places to visit.

St. Peter Cathedral has about 250 students in Pre-K – 8th.  We are in Rockford, which has about 55,138 people.  We are about 90 mile from Chicago and about 20 miles from the Wisconsin border.  We have a big water park called Magic Waters.  It has a 707,000-gallon pool and many water slides.  We are home to the Burpee Museum of Natural History and the Discovery Center.  In Chicago you can see Navy Pier, Sears Tower, Shedd Aquarium, Museum of Science and Industry, and the Field Museum.  For the sport fans, we have the Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Blackhawks to name a few.  We hope everyone has a great year.

Dear Friends,
Thank you for the postcards!  We are from Chicago, Illinois and our school is the Chicago Academy.  Our school mascot is the dolphin.  Our building used to be a college for adults before our school opened.  We are a class of second graders.  We have 14 girls and 14 boys.
We are learning a lot.  We love to do math, science, and reading.  We like to share our things with each other and then graph the data.  We are learning about balance and motion, and have made mobiles, tops, and zoomers.  We are also learning about addition.
Our state bird is the cardinal and our state flower is the violet viola.

Dear Postcard Buddies,
We are a kindergarten class from Mt. Carmel (pop. 8,000) located in rural sotheastern Illinois.  There are a lot fo farms here.  South School is a K - 2 school with 360 students and 6 Kindergarten classes.  Our class has 12 boys and 8 girls.  We like centers, computer, reading, math, and P.E. Our favorite lunch is pizza! We love getting your postcards and marking them on a map.  We can't wait to hear from you!'Have a great year!
