| Hi! We are a first grade
class from Malden, MA, which is about 5 miles north of Boston. We have
10 girls and 15 boys in our class. We love reading, science, and locating
all our postcard pals on our map. Have a great year! Mrs. Bell’s

| Greetings from Massachusetts, We are a fifth grade class at the LeRoy L Wood School in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. We love the Wood School because the teachers are great; we learn a lot; and we do lots of interesting things during the year. Most of us live on Sconticut Neck which is right near Buzzards Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. We also live close to Cape Cod (the elbow of Massachusetts), which is famous for its beaches and the National Seashore. In the summer we like to go swimming at the beach, play baseball and softball, skateboard, camp, and visit amusement parks like Canobie Lake park (NH) and Six Flags which is near Springfield, MA. Springfield is also the home of the Basketball Hall of Fame. In the winter it gets very cold and it usually snows. We like to go snowboarding, skiing, and have snowball fights. Massachusetts is a great state! It is very historical. Many events leading to the Revolutionary War took place in Massachusetts: the Battle of Lexington and Concord, Battle of Bunker Hill, and the Boston Massacre. The Pilgrims also settled in Plymouth, Massachusetts which isn’t too far from where we live. We also have championship teams in Massachusetts: The New England Patriots (Go Pats!), Boston Red Sox (Yea Sox!), the Bruins, and the Revolution. We hope some day you can come to Massachusetts and swim at our beaches and visit our historical sites. |
| Dear Friends, We live in western Massachusetts
near the New York state border. We have ten students in our class:
five girls and five boys. Right now the weather is very nice with
lots of sun, although the mornings are starting to get cold. Fall
is here and the trees are beginning to turn beautiful colors. By December
we will probably have lots of snow. We live in a medium sized city
surrounded by lots of mountains and lakes and a lot of small farms.
We are learning about apples and we are planning a trip to the apple orchard
so we can pick our own. We will celebrate Johnny Appleseed’s birthday
by making applesauce in our room. Our state is famous because the
Pilgrims landed here and celebrated the First Thanksgiving. Our city
is famous because the first baseball game was played here. Please
write back so we can mark you on our map. Your friends in Mrs. Reilly’s First Grade Class |
