| Greetings students, Hi from Minnesota! Minnesota is a beautiful place. We are known as the land of 10,000 lakes. We live in the rural town of Holdingford, which is in the middle of our state. Our school has about 600 kids K – 6. In Minnesota we have lots of wild animals: bear, rabbits, many different kinds of birds, snakes, bobcats, white-tail deer, lots of ducks, some bald eagles, moose, timber wolves, wild turkeys, many kinds of fish, ring neck pheasants, coyotes, etc. A lot of people live on farms in our area. We raise cows, chickens, pigs, roosters, horses, baby pheasants, sheep, geese, and ducks. For fun we like to fish, camp, play sports, go swimming, hunt, snowmobiling – just spending time out in nature! Have a great rest of the year! | Greetings from Northwestern Minnesota! We are a tiny school of 56 students with 6 teachers. Our class of second graders has just 11 students. Many people from other parts of the country come here in the summer to enjoy fishing and water sports on our 10,000 lakes. We are the home of the world famous Mayo Clinic. We have 4 definite seasons. In summer it can get hot. Last summer we had 100 degree temperatures. In the winter we can get very cold, sometimes 30 degrees below zero. Our town is in a rural area where farming is the main business. In Minnesota we raise lots of corn, soybeans, sunflowers, alfafa and other crops. We have dairy and beef cattle, along with sheep, goats, hogs, and other animals. Come visit us! You’ll have fun here! St. Michael’s Second Grade |

| Hello from Worthington, Minnesota! We are in the Southwestern part of Minnesota. Our state is well known for its fifteen thousand lakes. Our capital is St. Paul. The state bird is the loon. Worthington is known for our Turkey Day celebration. This is when we race our town turkey against a turkey from Texas. Bread ties were first invented and manufactured in Worthington. In June of 2008 the National Wind Surfing Competition will be held here, which we are very excited about. Mrs. Krekelberg’s 1st Grade Class |
