NORTH DAKOTA

Dear Class,
We live in Fargo, ND.  Our school has about 100 students from Pre-K to third grade.  Our class has 10 third graders.  The Red River is in Fargo and is on of two rivers in the world that flow north.  ND has some of the most fertile farmland in the world.  No other state has so many of its people working on farms.  A typical farmer in ND grows enough food to feed 129 people for a whole year!  President Theodore Roosevelt spent 3 years on a ranch in ND in the 1800’s.  Theodore Roosevelt National Park is in ND.
Can’t wait to hear from you.  Mrs. Hagerott’s 3rd graders

North Dakota is a very interesting state.  The capital is Bismarck.  We have hot summers and cold, windy winters.  We are located on the Great Plains.  There are very few trees but lots of crops.  We grow corn, wheat, and soybeans.  We raise a lot of cattle, too.  ND has a small population (just under 700,000), but the people are very nice.  Some famous people from our state are Jim Kleinsasser, Darin Erstad, and Roger Maris.  You should visit our state someday.  Lewis and Clark enjoyed an entire winter here!
