| Dear Postcard Friends, We are Mrs. Burns’ Second Graders from F.J. Varieur Elementary School in Pawtucket, RI. We are getting smarter everyday. We are learning how to edit with a blue pencil and how to spell big words. Our classroom mascot is Chester the raccoon. The city of Pawtucket (a Native American name meaning “At the Falls”) is a historic mill town because the Slater Mill is called the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. Pawtucket also has McCoy Stadium which is the ballpark for the Boston Red Sox AAA baseball farm team. |
| Hello from the Ocean State, We are in second grade at Wakefield School. We love to read. Our state flag is yellow, white, and blue with an anchor in the middle.
