Hi postcard friends,
We are a first grade class from Highgate, Vermont.  Our school has about 350 students in grades K – 6.  Our class has 15 students, 8 girls and 7 boys.  We really love school and Vermont.
Vermont is known for many things.  The best ice cream in the USA is made in Vermont, Ben and Jerry’s.  In the spring Vermont makes a lot of yummy maple syrup.  Two presidents were from Vermont:  Chester A. Arthur – 21st president from Fairfield, VT and Calvin Coolidge – 30th president from Plymouth Notch, VT.

Hello from the Mount Holly School Kindergarten class!  We have 100 students in our PreK – 6th grade school.  There are 5 girls and 7 boys in our class.  We have lots of snow right now!  We are having fun with sledding and using snowshoes.  In another month we will tap a sugar maple tree and make maple syrup.  Our class loves to read and write.  We are writing the morning meeting message and our homework is to read a book to our family every night.
Vermont’s state bird is the hermit thrush, the state flower is red clover and the state tree is the sugar maple.
