Hello, we are from Ft. Lewis, WA.  We have 90 students in our three 2nd grade classes.  We have a pretty mountain nearby that is called Mt. Rainier.  It rains a lot here but mostly in the winter and we have many trees.  When it snows, it usually snows up in the mountains.  Washington is known as the Evergreen State.  There is a nice army museum here, and we have Army parades here too.  We have a lot of fun at school playing with our friends.
Sincerely, #33 Mrs. Bennett’s class

Pearson Elementary in Poulsbo, Washington is about 10 minutes from the Naval Submarine Base at Bangor.  There are 20 students in our classroom.  We are known as the Evergreen State.  Our apples are "delicious" and our salmon is mouth-watering!  The state capital is Olympia and the top of the Space Needle has the best view of Seattle.  Our volcano Mt. St. Helens erupted in 1980, but our tallest mountain is Mt. Rainier.  We cheer for the Seahawks, Mariners, Sonics, and Sounders and we love getting your postcards!

Greetings from Chewelah, WA,
We are an all day everyday kindergarten class.  There are 9 girls and 7 boys.  We live in an Eastern Washington rural community about 45 miles north of Spokane and 50 miles south of the Canadian boarder.  Chewelah enjoys 4 seasons.  (We don’t have all the rain like the Seattle area on the west side of the state.)  This is great because we have year round fun.  We enjoy camping, boating, swimming, fishing, golfing, snow skiing, snowboarding, and much more.  Some of our favorite books are “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom”, “No, David!” and Robert Munsch stories.  Our school name is Gess Elementary and Gator is our mascot.  Have a great year!
From your friends in Chewelah,

Hello!  We live in Lynnwood, WA.  It is just 20 miles N. of Seattle.  Lynnwood is a beautiful place with outdoor pools, lots of parks and beaches.  We have mountains to the east (Olympics) and to the west (Cascades) of us.  On a clear day we have a beautiful view of Mt. Rainier (a big volcano!)  The Puget Sound is walking distance from our school.  There are450 children in our school.  We have 23 children in our class.  We love to cheer on the Seahawks, Mariners, Sonics, and U of Washington Huskies.  We really enjoy learning about different areas from across the US.

A big "Hi!" from Karshner Elementary!  We live in Puyallup, WA.  We think we are very lucky to live here.  We get to see Mt. Rainier - our very own active volcano - every day, and we are home of the Puyallup Fair.  There are 11 boys and 5 girls in our class.  We enjoy everything about school, but we especially love math, science and our two recesses!  We are having so much fun finding everybody's state on our map and we are happy to have so many friends around America! Love, Miss Boose's 1st Graders

Dear Class,
Hello from Washington State.  Waterville is a small town in the North-Central part of the state.  We are surrounded by wheat fields because the clay in the soil is perfect for wheat. We also live on a plateau.  Down the canyon is the Columbia river, which is great for catching slamon.  It doesn't rain very much because we are on the east side of the Cascades in its rain shadow.
Sincerely, Miss Cashman's Fifth Grade
