Greetings from Charles Town, West Virginia!
We are a class of 22 second graders and love to exchange postcards so we can learn about other people and places.
Charles Town is about an hour from Washington DC and right next to Maryland and Virginia.  We are in the Eastern panhandle of West Virginia.
Our state bird is the cardinal.  Our state tree is the sugar maple.  Our state fruit is the apple and our state flower is the rhododendrum.

Hello from Willimastown Elementary!  West Virginia is called the Mountain state because mountains and steep hills rise from one end of our state to the other.  Our state flower is the rhododendron.  Our state animal is the black bear.  Our state tree is the sugar maple.  We hope you’ll come and visit us sometime!
