WYOMING

independence rock
Hello from Wyoming, the Equality State!  If you visit Wyoming you can see Yellowstone Park, Devil’s Tower, hot springs, and a dinosaur dig site in Thermopolis, the Grand Tetons, Independence Rock, Devil’s Gate, and other sites from along the Oregon Trail.  The state flower is the Indian Paintbrush, the state animal is the buffalo, and the state bird is the meadowlark.  Wyoming is a state with mountains and wide open spaces.  Our area is large and our population small.  We experience all 4 seasons and can have a lot of wind!  Oil, gas, and other minerals are found here, as well as the biggest coal mine in the world!  Cheyenne is the capital city.  Vice President Dick Cheney is  from right here in Casper!

Hello everyone! We are a Kindergarten class from Gillette, Wyoming.  Gillette is located in the Northeastern corner of the state and is known for all of the coal mines in the area.  We have 20 kids in our class - 10 boys and 10 girls. We love working at our math workplaces, reading our poetry journals, and learning on our computers.  Thanks for sending us your postcards, we love hearing about your classrooms and your states!
