DISBURSEMENTS APPROVED

SHANNON’S MINI MART
Shannon’s Mini Mart Valentine’s Day Raffle donated $160.00 to AESA.  Hampton Inn donated a 1 night stay, Buck’s Bar & Grill donated 2 dinners, and Laurello’s donated 3 bottles of wine & a special Thank You to Sean Shannon for organizing and selling the raffle tickets.

BIG BROTHER BIG SISTER

Big Brothers Big Sisters is an after school mentoring program.  The program encourages the positive influence of GHS students with Austinburg Elementary students.  The program is designed to promote socialization & the importance of school.  Parents & teachers are encouraged to fill out an application for those who may be appropriate for the program, from grades 3 – 5.  Contact Tracy Rogan @ BBBS of Northeast Ohio at 1-800-222-2440

BOOK FAIR
Thank you to our book fair committee for volunteering their time during the day and during conferences, allowing children to shop for books with their parents.

BOWLING
Thank you to all that attended our bowling party in January.  Everyone enjoyed themselves.  We will hopefully have another bowling party next year.

CAPTAINS GAME
Mark your calendars for Friday, May 30th.  Austinburg Elementary will once again participate in the Captain’s Reading Program.  Reading will be done in March and packets will go home in April after spring break.  Please watch for more information to be coming home with your children.

CARNIVAL
This year’s school carnival will be held April 4th from 6pm – 8pm.  If anyone would like to donate candy please send it in to school at your earliest convenience; mark the bag “CARNIVAL”.  If you would like to volunteer to bring a baked good or to work a game, or if you have any questions or concerns, please contact the carnival committee.

CONFERENCE NIGHT DINNERS
Thank you to everyone that donated food for the teachers and staff on the conference nights.  A special thank you to Laurie Braun for her hard work of organizing the conference night dinners.

MARKET DAY
Market day continues to be a success.  March orders are due Thursday 13, 2008.  Pick up will be Tuesday, March 18, 2008 from 6:30 – 7:30 in the gym.  Thank you to all of our helpers’ hard work; we couldn’t do it without you.  If anyone has any questions or would like to help, please contact Tara Brown.
FUNDRAISER BIG BLAST PARTY
We would like to thank the volunteers that helped at our big blast party.  The children had a blast!

BOX TOPS & CAMPBELL’S SOUP LABELS
Please continue to send in your Box Tops for Education and your Campbell’s Soup Label UPC bar codes.

INK CARTRIDGES & CELL PHONES
We are still collecting used laser cartridges, ink jet cartridges, and old cell phones.  Please drop these items off in the school office.  We earn money for recycling these items.

NEXT MEETING
March 18, 2008 at 7:00 in the music room.  AESA would like to extend an invitation to teachers and parents to attend the meetings.  Your input, suggestions, and concerns are greatly appreciated.
*At our March meeting we would like to invite parents & teachers to attend.  We will have representatives from fundraising companies for consideration for next year’s fundraiser.  Your input & ideas would greatly be appreciated.
