Geneva High School students
are encouraged to make use of the Library Media Center facilities and
its materials in their pursuit of knowledge.
Students may come to the
Library Media Center for:
The Library Media Center is
open during school hours from 7:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Any changes to
this schedule will be announced in the morning or posted on the Media
Center door.
The LMC staff consists of Mrs. Barbara Roth, Library
Media Specialist and Mrs. Maureen Rankin, Library Assistant, and
exceptionally talented Student Library Aides.
With a library card,
students and staff may choose to borrow from a book collection of
approximately 11,000 volumes. Additionally, GHS participation in a
county wide resource sharing consortium as well as the Ohio Library
Shares program provides students and staff access to an extensive
variety of materials.
Library card holders may access
their accounts online to request materials, track request status,
and renew materials.
There are 12 computers in
the Media Center available for student use. Guidelines for computer use
are posted in the Library Media Center and can be found on the policies and procedures page.
Failure to comply with these rules will result in the loss of computer
privileges.
The Star Beacon,
News Herald, and Plain
Dealer newspapers are available for use in the Media
Center.The newspapers are kept for one week. Students are welcome to
clip articles from past issues for class assignments.
Issues of the following
magazines are available for students to read while in the
Media Center: Allure, Car & Driver, Cosmo Girl, Dirt Bike,
Discover, Entertainment Weekly, Hot Rod, InStyle, Justine Magazine,
Motor Trend, National Geographic, People, Popular Mechanics, Popular
Science, Seventeen, Smithsonian, Sports Illustrated, Teen Vogue, Truck
Trend, Truckin, and U.S. News & World Report.
