Purpose
Students are welcome to come
to the Library Media Center to complete assignments, study, read, check
out materials, or use the Internet (for educational purposes only, of
course).

Passes are
required
- Students must have a pass from a
classroom teacher or Mrs. Roth to use the LMC.
- Students who have research
assignments may obtain a yellow library pass from
their subject teacher. The student’s first and last name as well as
assignment topic must be on the pass.
- To obtain a pass from Mrs. Roth,
interested students should come to the Library Media Center in the
mornings before the end of fourth period and sign up for a pass during
their study hall.
- Students with passes are to report
directly to the Media Center. A list of students will then be sent to
the appropriate study hall for attendance.
- Passes will be honored on a first
come, first served basis.
- Students must be in the
Media Center by the time the bell rings.
- Once signed in, students
are expected to remain the entire period.

Conduct
Students are expected to:
- Come prepared to read, study or do
research. No passes to lockers will be given.
- Work quietly and not disturb others
- Keep hands, feet, and objects to
themselves
- Show respect for school and
personal property
Please note: food,
beverages, and the use of headsets or other electronics (including cell
phones) are prohibited.

Computers
Computers are available for
educational purposes only. Game playing, emailing, recreational web
surfing and other similar activities are not permitted. Students must
be familiar with the district Acceptable
Use Policy.

Library
Card
Any Geneva High School
student may open an account at the LMC. Please stop in and complete an
application. Student account responsibilities include:
- All materials borrowed on the
account
- Choice of material borrowed on the
account
- Fines and lost or damaged materials
- Notification of loss of library
card
- Fees charged for replacement of
card
- Not lending the library card to
others

Borrowing
materials
Books and materials
are loaned for a two-week period. The date due is printed on a receipt
at the time of checkout.
If needed for a longer
period of time, items may be renewed in person or online (as long as they are not overdue).
A fine of 10¢ a day
is assessed for overdue books and materials.
All fines and fees must be
paid before checking out or renewing any library items.
