Course Description: The introduction to Computer Programming course is targeted to the students who have no or very little programming knowledge or experience. The goal is for students to get a sense of how to make computers (as not very capable machines by themselves) do things that we would like them to do, and at the same time to see how computers (as intelligent machines) can do things that even surprise the very people who program them.
Microsoft’s Visual Basic.NET is the programming language used. All computer programs are done in the computer lab during class time. By the end of the semester, students will be writing their own programs and some simple computer games. In addition, the Visual Basic skills acquired make it much easier to learn other more complicating languages.
