Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) Strategic Action
    • ThinkLink assessment results returned and analyzed Gr. 1 & 2.
    • Ongoing assessments using Standards Aligned Theme Test and Running Records.
    • Everyday Mathematics teacher training conducted.
    • Response to Intervention (RTI) Model is further refined for intervention assistance.

Spencer Book Club

  The staff and students of the fifth and sixth grade would like to take this opportunity to extend a special than you to our PTO for their support of the Spencer Book club.
   This after school activity provides an opportunity for students, their teachers and principal to engage in lively and meaningful conversations about books.  The conversations extend the meaning of the text and allow the participants to make text to self as well as text to world connections.  Staff and students share personal experiences linked to themes from the story and get to know each other on a new level.
  Our PTO has supported this activity by providing trade books, food, and activity materials.  Without their appreciation for the enrichment this activity provides and their financial support, our school would not be able to offer such a fantastic opportunity to our students.  This club provides the perfect mix of learning and fun and has undoubtedly boosted our achievement in reading.

     We ask your cooperation in seeing to it that your children return all borrowed Spencer Library books, text books, and Bookmobile books before they receive their final report card.  Please do not return Bookmobile books to the Geneva Library.
   

Market Day
  Pick up your order on: Tuesday, May 20th,  from 3:30-5:00 PM.

Market Day will not continue over the summer.  This is the last month to order until September.  Be sure to stock up on your favorites!
 

2008/2009 Class Lists

   Teachers will be working together to prepare class lists at the end of this month.  Our goal is to create classes that are both academically and behaviorally balanced.  Please keep this in mind if you choose to make a teacher request.
     Teacher requests must be submitted in writing to Mr. Penzenik no later than May 30th.
