GENEVA AREA CITY SCHOOLS ANNOUNCE KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

FOR THE 2020 - 2021 SCHOOL YEAR

Beginning in the 2020 - 2021 school year, the Geneva Area City Schools will offer a full day kindergarten program at all elementary schools.

DUE TO THE CLOSURE OF ALL OHIO SCHOOLS and limitations provided through the current guidance, Kindergarten Registration has been adjusted to meet the new guidelines.  

Registration Dates:     April 27, 28, 29, 30, and May 1.

                                   Last day to drop-off:  Wed., May 6th

Registration Packets:  PICK –UP packets and DROP-OFF completed packets in the front foyer area of all elementary buildings.  The foyer area (inside the main front entrance) will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m..  There will a table with packets and a box (with a slotted opening) for drop offs.  

FORMS and a DROP-OFF BOX will also be available at Geneva Middle School.

*Note: The foyers are monitored by surveillance cameras.

For the Geneva Area City School District, to be eligible for kindergarten, a child must be five years old by August 1, 2020.  

IF YOU ARE ABLE, please provide copies of the following information when you drop off your registration packet.  If you do not have the ability to make copies, we will contact you at a later date and set up a time to make additional copies.

1. Completed registration packet – ALL pages completed.  Please check.  

2. Birth Certificate - hospital or mother’s record is not legal certification. This  

    needs to be the certificate from Vital Statisitcs.

3. Written proof of immunization:

  a.   DPT – minimum of 4 (includes 1 booster)

b.   Polio – minimum of 3 or 4 (includes 1 booster)

  c.   MMR – (Rubella, Measles, Mumps) - 2 doses each

d.   Hepatitis B - 3 doses

  e.   Varicella (chicken pox) - 2 doses each or parental verification of

                            natural chicken pox

4. Proof of Legal Guardianship – if the child is not living with both natural parents, proof of legal guardianship must be presented.  

Custody document *if applicable – parents who are divorced or have an agreement in place.  The entire document needs to be provided. 

5. Proof of Residency – parent ID cannot be used.  This should be an official 

    document with the address printed on it and received in the last 30 days.
