Just a few reminders and updates as we prepare to welcome back all students to the building. Beginning on Monday October 12th, we will no longer be operating on a hybrid A/B schedule for student in-person learning. Beginning October 12th, all A/B students will be in the building for in-person instruction on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday of each week. Wednesdays will still be used as a cleaning/sanitation day for our custodial staff and teachers will be conducting office hours and help sessions for all students. Please be aware that beginning on Monday, students who are supposed to be in the building will need to call the office to report their absence if they are home, even if they are zooming into their classes. This will help the office track attendance for students who are attending in person. We are also reminding families that students are able to bring and use their own personal device from home if you allow them to do so. This is not a requirement but would help with the allocation of our school issued Chromebooks to students who need them until our shipment of new Chromebooks arrive. Geneva Schools will not be responsible for any damaged or lost personal devices. Also, students who have been issued a school device will be responsible for bringing the school device back and forth daily and ensuring that it is charged prior to each school day.
If you are the parent of an online student who you wish to have return to in-person schooling, you may do so by calling the GMS office, and they may resume at the beginning of the 2nd grading period on November 2nd.
Finally, there is no school tomorrow, Friday October 9th. Have a safe and enjoyable long weekend. We look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday October 12th.
