Geneva High School will proudly host its first annual Military and Veterans Appreciation Night on Friday, February 13, 2026, in partnership with the Blue Star Mothers (OH-57 Chapter). The special evening will take place as the Geneva Eagles Boys Basketball Team faces off against the Berkshire Badgers, with the JV game tipping off at 5:30 p.m. and Varsity beginning at 6:45 p.m. The event is designed to honor the service and sacrifice of current military members and veterans throughout the Geneva community.
All active-duty military and veterans will receive free admission to the games. Regular ticket prices are $8 for adults, $5 for students, and free for senior citizens. In addition, fans can receive free admission by donating one of the “Stay Alive 5” items: winter hats, gloves, boots, coats, or sleeping bags. Donations will be given to the Sub Zero Mission, an organization dedicated to helping homeless veterans in Northeast Ohio in need stay warm during the winter months.
The evening will also include halftime games during both the JV and Varsity contests, along with the opportunity to purchase Geneva High School Military Appreciation shirts for $10 while supplies last. Proceeds from shirt sales will also benefit the Sub Zero Mission. For questions about the event or ways to contribute, community members are encouraged to contact GHS Athletic Director Jennifer Crossley at Jennifer.Crossley@genevaschools.org. Geneva High School is proud to be a Purple Star School!
