Geneva High School Celebrates National Honor Society Induction

Geneva High School proudly welcomed new members into the National Honor Society (NHS) during its annual Induction Ceremony held on February 24, 2026. The evening celebrated the academic excellence, leadership, service, and character that define NHS members and the Geneva Eagle community.

The ceremony opened with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Dominic Palmisano, followed by a warm welcome from NHS President Sarah Cybulski. Musical selections, including the National Anthem and the Geneva High School Alma Mater, were beautifully performed by John Cybulski and Ethan Schenk, setting a respectful and celebratory tone for the evening.

Guest speaker Grant Mihalick delivered inspiring remarks, encouraging students to continue leading with purpose and integrity. President Sarah Cybulski also explained the rigorous NHS selection process, highlighting the commitment required of each inductee. The program featured the traditional Cornerstone Speeches, with NHS officers speaking on the four pillars of the organization: Service (Gianna Markijohn, Vice President), Leadership (Joalexander Sanchez, Historian), Character (Claire Cafaro, Secretary), and Scholarship (Amy Fernandez, Treasurer).

The highlight of the evening was the formal induction of the Class of 2026 members, followed by the NHS pledge led by current officers and new inductees. Vice President Gianna Markijohn concluded the ceremony with closing remarks that reflected pride in the accomplishments of both current members and the newest class of honorees.
