Hello! Welcome to first grade! I am Mrs. Greenwood, your child's teacher. This page will continually be under construction to update important events and content related to our classroom. I can be reached by phone at Austinburg Elementary or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note the added supply list. Materials have been highlighted that may not have been on former lists. I look forward to an exciting and productive year!
Attached is a supply list that has highlighted materials that may not have been on former lists.
One wide ruled spiral notebook
One pack low odor expo markers (fine tip)
One pack of highlighters
#2 pencils-replace often
erasers-replace as needed
crayons-no more than 24 count
small pencil box or zipper bag for supplies
2 boxes of Kleenex
1 box of wet wipes
1 bottle of Elmer's Glue
large glue sticks-replace often
1 box of gallon size Ziplock bags
1 coloring book
Most items do not need to be labeled. We use a community sharing approach for most items as long as everyone participates equally. Please label crayons, pencil boxes, spiral notebooks, coloring books, and scissors. Please also be sure to label your child's book bag with a name and bus number.
Your child will be receiving a folder with two pockets. The Take-Home pocket will contain papers and information that need to be reviewed and kept at home. The Bring Back pocket will contain papers and information that need to be reviewed and brought back to school. Please place any notes, absence excuses, etc. in this pocket. The Bring Back pocket will also contain a monthly calendar that will provide a glimpse of how your child is behaving in class each day. Each day your child's calendar will be colored green (good), yellow (warning), or red (phone call or conference needed). A yellow or red coded day will contain a note from the teacher explaining any concerns or misconduct. Please make sure this calendar remains in the folder each day.
