The event could not have taken place with the support of the GMS Parent Boosters and the financial support of the Geneva Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxillary, Matt Demshar with Skufca's Body Works, Joe Ortiz with American Electric and Dave Palinkas with Beverage Depot. We'd also like to thank the following local businesses for their basket donations for the "Best Trunk" Contest: Dunkin Donuts, Hemlock Springs Golf Course, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Pure Joy Spa, Scribblers Coffeehouse, Snap Fitness, Sonny Lanes, Sports Junction and True North Hair Company, as well as all the volunteers who came to support the event. It was a great success!

Unity Day is a national event in the United States that takes place every year on the third Wednesday in October. The primary aim of Unity Day is to raise awareness about bullying prevention and promote a culture of kindness, acceptance, and inclusion in schools, workplaces, and communities. Unit Day at Geneva Middle School Wearing Orange: Staff and Students wore orange as a symbol of unity and support for the cause. Orange was chosen for its bright, vibrant color, representing a future free from bullying. Anti-Bullying Awareness: Unity Day is closely tied to the anti-bullying movement. Each month Geneva Middle School will hold an event to promote anti-bullying, support, openness, acceptance and respect for others. Social Media Campaigns: We used our Instagram page (@GMS-Eagles) to spread the message of Unity Day. The hashtag #UnityDay is widely used to encourage dialogue and participation. Pledges and Commitments: People often make pledges to stand against bullying and promote a culture of respect and inclusion. These commitments extend beyond Unity Day and aim to create long-lasting change. Unity Day is a vital reminder that bullying and discrimination have no place in Geneva Schools and our community. It's a day to come together, celebrate our differences, and recommit to creating a more compassionate and inclusive society.

The Geneva Fire Department was set up at the middle school today to complete their annual inspections of fire hoses on their fire trucks. During the inspection each hose had to hold a pressure test for a set amount of time. They utilize a corner of the middle school parking lot because it provides enough space to unroll, test and reroll over 10,000 feet of hoses. This is an example of the great partnership between Geneva Schools and the Geneva Fire Department.
