Geneva High School Senior Recognized as National Merit Commended Student
Geneva, OH — Geneva High School is proud to announce that senior Chase Nicastro has been named a Commended Student in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program.
This prestigious recognition places Chase among the top 50,000 students nationwide who achieved the highest scores on the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Commended Students are recognized for their outstanding academic promise and exceptional performance on this highly competitive exam.
“Chase’s dedication to academic excellence and his strong work ethic reflect the very best of our students here at Geneva High School,” said Michael King, Principal of Geneva High School. “We are incredibly proud of his accomplishment and the example he sets for his peers.”
Each year, approximately 1.5 million high school students enter the National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the PSAT/NMSQT. Only about 34,000 of those students are named Commended Students in recognition of their exceptional academic talent.
The entire Geneva Area City Schools community congratulates Chase on this impressive achievement and wishes him continued success in his academic and personal pursuits.
