Dear Geneva Students and Families,

During these uncertain times, Geneva Area City Schools is committed to providing a safe and high quality educational experience for all of our students.  I want to thank the students, parents and community for your help and support over the last few months.  We have some difficult weeks and months ahead and we will need your help and cooperation as we navigate through this period of time.  As a district, we will continue to do all that we can for the safety and well-being of our students, staff and families.

As a public school district in Ohio, we are regulated by the State of Ohio, Ohio Department of Education, Ohio Department of Health, and the Ashtabula County Health Department. The District has worked closely with these entities and we continue to monitor their guidance and recommendations as we prepare for the start of the school year. We are developing our “Return to School” Plan to provide some options to our students and families. We will have an in-school option as well as an online option for our students.  After reviewing the survey or ”Return to School” form that was provided to our district families, we know the pandemic and various precautions have become a polarizing issue for our community.  There is a  percentage of families that would like an online option as we begin the school year. For all of you, your child’s education is important and we plan to make it a priority as we continue to follow the health and safety guidelines that are for the benefit of all...the students, teachers, staff and families.

At this time, we plan to begin the year as normal as possible.  The District's "Return to School" Plan will be shared with our families and community during the week of August 10th.  If any changes are proposed to the district calendar, information will be shared as quickly as possible to assist in your planning.  As the district receives any new mandates or recommendations, adjustments will be made to our plan. Thank you for your patience and understanding during these difficult times.

Stay Safe!  Stay Healthy! ...and Stay Positive!
