Happy New Year! School resumes on Monday, January 4th in a remote instructional model. We will resume in-person instruction in all buildings on Monday, Jan. 11th. We look forward to our students returning in-person. Stay Safe! Stay Healthy! ... and Stay Positive!

It is with sadness that the District shares that Mr. Rapose passed away this past Sunday. He taught at GHS as an Intervention Teacher and was a valuable staff member for 14 years in the Geneva School District. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family. He will be missed by many! With Pride ...we honor Mr. Rapose for his dedication to our students and the field of education.
If any students need to see a counselor or need to talk to someone, please contact Geneva High School on Monday (Jan 4th). We will have staff members or others available.

Due to the weather and other problems, the district phones and website are having some issues. We are not able to receive or make any calls to outside lines. I apologize for the inconvenience... Windstream has been notified of the issue.

Austinburg Elementary will be CLOSED today for students and classes (Mon., Nov. 16th) due to a staff shortage. All available / regular staff should report for normal hours.

This is UPDATED information even though it says 2 months ago (which is when the first post in the article was added).... please click on the title to see the cases in order (with most current on top).

Geneva Area City Schools will be CLOSED tomorrow due to staff shortages. The illnesses are not all related to COVID-19 but some are other illnesses, family illnesses or personal days. There will be no transportation to Atech or St. John with a shuttle bus. Also... NO BREAKFAST OR LUNCHES WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TOMORROW (11/13). We will resume with our normal schedule on Monday, November 16th. With the closure: ALL ACTIVITIES for the Geneva Schools ARE CANCELLED FOR THE WEEKEND.

Geneva Middle School will be closed today ( Mon., Nov. 2nd) due to no power and heat from an outage. All other schools are open.

With Ashtabula County changing to the red level on Thursday, Oct. 29th, further discussion was held with county officials. After conversation with the Ashtabula County Health Department and other county schools, the Geneva School District will not alter its current school plan at this time. We will continue with in-person classes (4 days a week - Mon., Tues., Thurs., and Fri.). Wednesdays will continue to be a sanitizing and support day. We will continue to monitor any changes and increase in exposure in our schools. Thank you for your support and patience. Please check the website - NEWS or Livefeed for any updated information.

There have been questions concerning potential changes in our in-person plan if Ashtabula County changed in the color coding / level system. The following is part of our plan that is posted on our website. If there is a change, we will work closely with the Ashtabula County Health Department to determine the reason for the change and if any action in our plan is necessary. If after consultation and further recommendations, the following will be followed:
If the county goes to a Level RED: Notification will be made by the district (this may not be immediate but we will work closely with the Ashtabula County Health Department), students will go to online education only. Teachers and staff will still report to their buildings with safety precautions observed.

A robo-call will go out on Sunday evening (Oct. 4th), reminding parents and families about the change in the in-person schedule for students beginning on October 12th. Students will be in-person four days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). Wednesdays will still be non-student days while sanitizing, planning and support is completed. DETAILS for a change in the Geneva Schools in-person plan will be posted on the website for our students and families on Monday, September 28th (after 1pm). Information concerning the procedures for staff and students that may be exposed or need to to be isolated / quarantined is posted under NEWS (COVID-19 article).

AUSTINBURG WILL REOPEN FOR HYBRID GROUP B ON THURSDAY, SEPT. 17th and FRIDAY, SEPT. 18th. Further discussion was held with the Ashtabula County Health Department and even though some isolation orders are in place (for staff and students in group A), the district will reopen school on Thursday. Additional cleaning and sanitizing occurred on Tuesday (all day) and will continue on Wednesday.

Due to a confimed case at Austinburg Elementary in 2nd grade and numerous teachers, staff and students that were isolated or quarantined by the Ashtabula County Health Department, AUSTINBURG ELEMENTARY WILL BE CLOSED FOR STUDENTS FOR THE REST OF THIS WEEK (Tuesday, Sept. 15th through Friday, September 18th). Students will be asked to complete packets, assignments and online work during the week.
