Before joining Geneva Area City Schools, King taught Social Studies at Nordonia High School, since then he has served as: Elementary, Middle, & High School Principal, Curriculum Director, and Director of Strategic Initiatives. He began his tenure at Geneva in 2023 as principal of Geneva High School and varied Assistant Superintendent roles were added in 2024.

During his tenure, Geneva High School received the Momentum Award from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce for significant gains in educational outcomes for Geneva’s students. Mr. King also chaired the Purple Star Committee which led to GHS receiving Purple Star designation for supporting students of military families. His efforts have not only enhanced the educational experience but have also strengthened the bond between the school and the broader community.
